By: Rachael Mhire | 10 years ago

Watson Metal Masters, Inc., a custom fabricator of premium stainless steel and alloy tanks and vessels, recently announced plans to construct a new facility in Republic, Missouri, to accommodate future growth of the company. With an anticipated $4.8M of capital investment, the company will break ground on their new 70,000 sq. ft. facility in coming weeks, located on 11.25 acres within the Brookline Business Park.

With a long history of successful stainless steel fabricators, the Springfield region possesses a high quality production workforce for the industry, making the region an ideal location for companies like Watson Metal Masters to expand. With the expansion of the company, President and owner Bill Schahuber plans to double their current workforce, adding 77 new jobs paying above county average. Similar to other local companies in the stainless steel tank and component industries, including Stainless Technology, Tank Components Industries, and Paul Mueller, Schahuber is focused on meeting future growth with specialized craftsman, upgraded equipment, and a facility to better serve customer demand.

Watson Metal Masters will access a local Enhanced Enterprise Zone incentive through the City of Republic which offers the company 50% property tax abatement for 10 years. Additionally, the company will benefit from state incentives through the new Missouri Works program. Missouri Works offers a mix of automatic and discretionary benefits in the form of 100% retention of state withholding tax, and refundable tax credits for qualified companies that choose Missouri to invest and create jobs.
