Professional salon products distributor Salon Service Group will soon break ground on a new 45,000 sq. ft. facility, a $4.2 million investment, to replace their Springfield, Missouri headquarters which they have quickly outgrown in response customer demand.

Salon Service Group is a privately held company that supplies professional hair care products from nine major health and beauty brands to salons serviced across a 10 state area. In order to optimize benefits available from state and local incentive programs, the company strategically selected a building site for their new facility in an enhanced enterprise zone. The program provides 50% property tax abatement for 10 years, with an added bonus of an additional 25% abatement for LEED Silver (or higher) certified buildings.

“It’s been a great 27 years, and we are really excited about the future at Salon Service Group,” said Gino Barbo, founder and owner of Salon Service Group. “The relationships we have built with our customer base through our employees has been the core of our success. All of us at Salon Service Group take great pride in what we do and that pride flows from the community and the people in it.”

Founded in the Springfield region, Salon Service Group’s rapid growth bodes well of the local economy and continuous growth of Springfield as a whole. Other distributors in Springfield, including Diamond International, John Deere, and Roma, have experienced significant grown within their Springfield operations, indicative of distribution strength in the region.

Located in the middle of the country, significant transportation infrastructure investments have been made in the Springfield region. In partnership with the Missouri Department of Transportation, there have been 12 improved or redesigned freeway interchanges throughout Springfield along I-44, US 60, and US 65, enhancing connectivity to the rest of the country. More improvements are planned for the future in effort to further improve traffic flow, safety, and accessibility for businesses and residents alike. Salon Service Group’s new building location is set to be located just off I-44 which will help the company serve their clients more efficiently.
