American Products, located in Strafford, Missouri has announced plans to expand and add 95 new jobs to their existing workforce of 154 employees. The new jobs will consist of welders, machine operators and support staff for their growing manufacturing needs. During this same period, the company will be investing $2.6 million in capital for new machinery and equipment.

Steve Smith, CEO of American Products comments; “We feel very fortunate to be experiencing growth like we are. To stay in pace with this growth, we will be adding new employees and will need to invest in additional equipment to keep up with demand.”

American Products is a manufacturing company, specializing in designing and manufacturing enclosures for a wide variety of applications such as data communication, telecom, fiber optic, and industrial enclosures. The company has been operating in Strafford since 2002. This facility along with three others located in Missouri manufacture metal products, food processing equipment, and computer equipment enclosures.

“This new investment and significant job creation is a big step forward for the economy of southwest Missouri,” said Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon. “The increasing demand for its products has led American Products to hire 95 more hardworking Missourians, while increasing its investment into the local economy. This is another sign that our economy is moving in the right direction, and we continue to fight every single day, for every single job, to keep our economy moving forward.”

“Springfield Regional Economic Partnership is excited to be a part of this announcement. American Products is a wonderful company with quality jobs and investment, which is a great addition to the Strafford economy and community,” said Shari Lockhart, Co-Chairman of SREP. “This is just another example of how partnerships help grow success in the Springfield region.”

In addition to American Product’s expansions, the Springfield region manufacturing sector has seen continued growth in the last year. John Deere Reman, Kraft Foods, Buckhorn Inc., and Digital Monitoring Products have all announced expansions to accommodate their growth.
