Performance Food Group (PFG) announced today it is expanding its 80,000 square foot PERFORMANCE Foodservice – Roma distribution facility. The expansion will not only add 35,000 square feet to the current facility, but results in $5.2 million in capital investment in the Springfield area.

“This is an exciting opportunity to be able to expand our business in our hometown,” said Fred Dallas, president, PERFORMANCE Foodservice Roma – Springfield, MO.

Mac Pearce, president and CEO of PERFORMANCE Foodservice, added “This expansion project is part of our continued investment in growing Performance Food Group. It is one of several facility expansions we have underway.”

“We are always pleased to have the opportunity to assist the growth of existing businesses in our community,” said Tom Babik, president of Springfield Business Development Corporation, the economic development arm of the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce. “PFG has made a significant commitment to Springfield and certainly its expansion is indicative of the fact that Springfield is a great place for businesses to grow.”

PERFORMANCE Foodservice Roma – Springfield, MO, serves over 1,500 customers throughout a nine-state area which includes pizzerias, Italian and Mexican restaurants, as well as regional chains. Wages for the new jobs will be above the Greene County average of $33,924 and include a comprehensive benefits package.

“The City of Springfield is excited to hear the news of this expansion,” said Mayor of Springfield Jim O’Neal. “This is another example of a company taking advantage of Springfield’s prime distribution location in the nation.”
