Building supply company expands 30,000 sq.ft., adding $3 million in capital investment

Arrowhead Building Supply, Inc., a distributor and wholesaler of exterior building supplies and materials, has announced today the expansion of a new 30,000 sq.ft. facility. In addition to the new facility, the Springfield community will benefit from the company’s anticipated $3 million in capital investment to construct the new building and purchase equipment.

The company will add 10 new jobs to their local workforce. Hiring for the new jobs will begin immediately. Arrowhead Building Supply has locations across three states, and in addition to the new Springfield location, the company has a 26,000 sq.ft. facility located in Hollister, and two locations in the St. Louis region.

The company has qualified for $276,955 in state and local benefits through the Missouri Department of Economic Development and the City of Springfield’s Enhanced Enterprise Zone tax incentive program. Arrowhead Building Supply Inc. is a family owned and operated company. Founded in 1997 with borrowed delivery trucks, one location and three employees, Arrowhead today has six locations, over 100 employees and 50 delivery trucks.

Partnerships between business and communities are of foremost importance and contribute to the success the Springfield region has had in attracting and expanding business. The Springfield Partnership for Economic Development, consisting of the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce, Springfield Business Development Corporation, Greene County, the City of Springfield and City Utilities, with additional support from Missouri Department of Economic Development, worked together with Arrowhead Building Supply, Inc. to provide assistance through the successful expansion process.

The logistics sector, which includes wholesale trade, transportation, and warehousing, is large in the Springfield region providing an annual economic impact of $14.3 billion and making up 8.3% of all jobs in the region. Due to the advantages the Springfield region has to offer, supply chain and logistics is a growing industry in the region.
