Springfield, Missouri Unemployment Rate Drops Below 7%

The Bureau of Labor Statistics released November 2011 unemployment rate estimates, confirming the economic success the Springfield, Missouri metro area has seen in the last year. Springfield metro area’s November unemployment rate dropped to 6.7%, down from 7.3% in October, and 8.5% one year ago. The national unemployment rate for November was 8.2%.

In addition, the Springfield metro area ranks 9th in all metro areas nationwide for job growth with a 4.4% increase over the last year with labor force numbers reaching over 223,500.
