With the help of the Springfield Regional Economic Partnership, TCI accessed assistance with all aspects of the expansion, including sale of the land and negotiating state and local incentives. TCI plans to build out the 75,000 sq. ft. shell to a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility and add 6,000 sq. ft. of office space. This investment also includes the purchase of additional shovel-ready land which opens the door for future expansions up to 160,000 sq. ft.

The company has already begun to purchase equipment for the new facility, which will expand current production capabilities and add more than 25 employees. New equipment will increase efficiency and add capacity to all product departments, allowing for better service of current customers and giving the company the opportunity to grow their customer base.

TCI’s decision to invest in the new facility is demonstrative of the strength of the Springfield manufacturing sector as a whole. The quality of the production workforce and low cost of doing business in Springfield, Missouri has led TCI and other notable manufacturers including Kraft Foods, Springfield ReManufacturing Corp. (SRC), and Paul Mueller Company to substantial growth opportunities in this region over the past year. In fact, manufacturing employment in Springfield has grown by 11.4% since the low point of the recession.

President and CEO of Tank Components Industries Dale Sandy said, “We are very pleased with our decision to expand our company and keep it located right here in Springfield. Our quality workforce can produce exactly what our customers need in a very reliable manner.”

Partnership Industrial Center West is a 400-acre industrial park that offers cost-effective, development-ready sites with utilities, roads, and permits in place. Located adjacent to I-44 and the Springfield-Branson National Airport, the park has nearly 200 acres remaining for development.
